How to choose weight control dog food

What to look for

  • Label wording: weight control, healthy weight or lite appears in the title.
  • Food type: dry, wet and fresh foods differ.
  • Bag size: bigger bags cost less per lb.
  • Feeding amount: follow the label and your vet's advice.
  • Your dog's own needs come first: age, size, activity, allergies and health conditions all affect what suits a dog, so talk to your vet about diet before you change foods.
